Research

  • The main research activities can be summarized as follows:
  • Mechanical and thermal energy transducer materials for low, medium and high frequency ultrasonic (piezoelectric effect) and infrared (pyroelectric effect) applications.
  • Characterization of cell cultures with innovative methods such as pyroelectric sensors.
  • Development of a wearable device for noninvasive assessment of hemodynamic parameters through Triboelectric effect.
  • Bioinspired echo-localization systems for applications in medical robotics and neuroscience. Development of devices based on thin layers of nanoporous materials for trapping biomolecules and/or molecules in the gas phase.
  • Development of non-enzymatic Sensors for salivary matrix characterization in subjects with insulin resistance.
